SUMMARY:Residential School Commemorative Burning Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:The shishalh Nation will be hosting a burning ceremony at the longhouse at 1:00 pm on October 14\, 2018. \nThis burning ceremony was intended to take place as a joint ceremony between the shíshálh and Tla’amin on September 2. However\, due to the fire ban and extreme dry conditions during this period the burning ceremony was postponed. \nAll shishalh Nation members are welcome to attend the burning ceremony to pay respect to the past children of the Sechelt Residential School. Plates of food will be arranged by the Nation to feed the spirits of the past children. \nIf you have any questions regarding this event please contact Steven Feschuk at 604-740-5600.
